Doomed by the mandating of National Standards, the New Zealand Curriculum effectively becomes redundant............so I put it on Trade Me (no reserve!). Given it's potential and relatively pristine condition - who knows?

Congratulations on your creativity and innovation, Kerry! The link to your Trade Me page was widely circulated and stimulated discussion all over the motu! Your quick, witty, thoughtful and respectful replies to all questions was a tribute to you. Thank you for the many hours you gave to helping others understand the issues.

Thanks Louise. Had I thought the whole thing right through ... (not always a strength with me - once parachuted off a roof using my Grandad's clip-on braces as the harness..........that which clippeth also unclippeth - particularly in a high wind. Mum retrieved her dad's braces and her double-bed sheet from the neighbour across the road. Later she fished me out of the macrocarpa hedge. Do you know that with such a contraption; if the boy-weight to sheet ratio is right and the nor-wester is strong enough; said boy can actually gain height? Shoulda used button-on braces....). In all seriousness, the main objective of getting the standards discussion to a wider community audience was achieved; therefore worth the effort. I appreciate your support.

I can visualise the entire episode! Lateral thinkers and risk takers like you are to be encouraged in a world where too many readily accept without question. You are a living example of the confident, connected, actively engaged, life-long learner! I wonder if a generation of children subjected to the National Standards regime will produce such inspirational characters!
